30-day Meditation Playlist for ADHD

ADHD is baffling. I have a friend who cured her debilitating gut health problems after being diagnosed and treated for ADHD. What does ADHD have to do with gut health? Apparently a lot (The Brain-Gut Connections, Johns Hopkins Medicine).

Another friend is the most considerate person by all accounts, but frequently shows up hours late to friend gatherings after getting sidelined while cooking her potluck contribution.

I myself find reading challenging. Rather than going line by line, my eye jumps ahead to the ends of paragraphs, or I’m compelled to flip ahead and read backwards from the end of the chapter while my mind furiously pieces together meaning. I don’t have an official diagnosis, but I find an affinity with friends who do.

Mindfulness and meditation can help wandering, busy and anxious minds become more present, self-aware, calm and focused.

Here’s a meditation playlist I put together for a friend with ADHD, addressing topics related to attention, focus and presence. These are short guided meditations (10 min and under) on the free app, Insight Timer. If you’re new to meditation or have gotten away from it, guided meditations are a great gateway into a mindfulness practice.

It won’t make your life worse. 🙂
